Bunny with a sticky eye

Hi, hoping for some advice from experienced bunny owners, my little boy has a sticky left eye, his right one and both eyes on my little girl are fine, have seen it could be dental related but he's not off his food! Just wanted to know if it is worth calling the emergency vet or will it be okay to wait until Monday? Will keep bathing it in the meantime.

I'd guess it is likely to be tooth related (in which case your vet may well need to give him a dental), blocked tear duct (which they can flush, usually without sedating/anaesthetic, assuming he's calm) or conjunctivitis (drops - fucithalmic I think we had). Are the insides of his paws matted where he's been wiping his eye? If so, wipe his paws too incase it's an infection that he might spread. If there are any other symptoms, such as sneezing or discharge from his nose (in case it's pasteurella), I'd separate him from your other bunny & speak to/get him to the vet.

If he's insured, a lot of insurers have a free vet advice line staffed 24-7 by qualified vet nurses. Otherwise, does your vet have an out of hours number you can call? Ours gives free advice over the phone outside office ours but will take emergencies in if they think they need to treat right away.
