i honestly don't mind how early my kids get up on xmas day, as i like the getting up when it's dark and eating all the chocolate coins pre 6 am myself, but i have learned not to fill their stockings too early - one year i thought i'd be organised and do it at about 11.00 so i could go to bed earlyish - needless to say my daughter woke up before midnight, saw santa had been and wanted to get up! She then woke up every half an hout til we gave up at 4 am and let xmas day begin.

Well I am 27, my brother older and a slightly younger sister...we still get up around 6am. Even now though we are not allowed down the stairs until my Dad has got up and he MUST be the very first person down the stairs....just to make sure that Father Christmas has been!

Mine slept in last year, much shock as the oldest is a bad sleeper usually, we ended up being late everywhere we were mean't to go.
One day I might be more organised...........

  • My two usually wake up early on xmas morning...well the eldest normally wakes the youngest up, the little one doesn't get much say in the matter!!
Then its pile onto mums bed to open stocking presents. I don't mind if its after about 6am, anything earlier and its time for the super strength concealer for the bags under mums eyes!
I remember when I was a kid my Father Christmas always got us an annual in our xmas stocking so even if we got up too early we would always have the annuals to read til it was time to get up proper. I always got the Beano!:j
I hated going to weddings. All the grandmas would poke me saying "You're next". They stopped when I started doing it to them at funerals :p

Mine don't get up till 8am.

I know of someone whose son's would set their alarm for 4 or 5am every year, and made her get up with them.......it became a tradition and they STILL do it - even though they are both in their 20's:eek:

Christmas morning is ... well .. Christmas morning!! :j :j :j No laying in bed expected

I don't ever remember any restrictions being placed on us as kids and I've never put one on my own children.

I have had to rather *loudly* cough and bang the bathroom door to give them the hint that it's ooooookaaaaay to get up - just in case they were laid in bed wondering   :D

    It's once a year; it's exciting; it's CHRISTMAS!!! :j :j :j
