kids getting up really early on christmas day? How to keep them in a bed longer!

A gem of a tip from my mother and this always worked on me.
You know how if you see Santa, he'll never come again? Well, he doesn't want that to happen, any more than you do, so to avoid any mix ups, when he delivers your christmas presents he also switches on your central heating. This means that not only is the house nice and warm for when you get up, there can be no accidental seeing of santa - if you wake up and touch a cold radiator you MUST NOT go downstairs under any circumstances!!
I think her record was 1000 one year Most years she'd get impatient and flick the thermostat on herself so that we knew we could get up. I never ever, questioned it, it's just so rational! Might be hard to implement with a 7 year old but get your little uns used to the idea now and say goodbye to the 4am wake up call!

Mine never get up early have to wake them up some years as i cant wait any longer.
As a child i used to get up at 4amNumber 4 due 21st jan0 -
we just used to hang their stockings on their beds and big prezzies were down stairs. They'd wake up and rifle through their stockings ,play with some bits and pieces ,eat the apple and orange and go back to sleep till later.0

We sprinkle fairy dust in their eyes and they sleep until about 7.30 unlike me who is awake from 3am waiting for them to wake up. Bearing in mind i have only just gone to bed at 1 after doing the footprints and of course eating the carrots and mince pies and drinking the milk!!!!No one said it was going to be easy!!

my 3 are usually sitting on me and ohs bed at 4am opening their stockings so we just tell them they'd better go back to bed incase santa has't finished and if he hears them awake he'll go without leaving any presents down stairs that normally gets them back into bed again .0
