Would like to change supply but sites advise against?

Hi have been a bit lazy , was on edf online v5 standard direct debit duel fuel which came to an end I think august and have been advised of 2 rises since then.

Anyway would like to change supplier since I hate the fact EDF do not automatically advise you to change but just ley you rot on an expensive tariff BUT both eneryhelpline and moneysupermarket advise that EDF online s@ver v7 duel fuel would be cheapest for me.

So what Should i do? Eon Save online v4 is only £8 per year more expansive and i would get cashback which I wouldn't just by staying with EDF but I don't have any experience of Eon service wise.

ALSO at the moment I am paying £80 per month to EDF for gas cos I paid to little at the start of the contract but no way do I want to continue paying this if I stay with them.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

And you think other suppliers are any different? Entirely standard practice. The end dates of each tariff is clearly available. If you choose to do nothing at that time that is your decision.

BG contacted me to say WS4 was ending and I should consider switching, if I do nothing I will be on their standard tariff, I went onto online 3 or whatever it is called, but now thinks I should have gone onto WS10 :o

Tabath, it's entirely your decision. I know what I'd do though.. I'd change supplier and get whatever cashback I could. But then I tend to change often to run after the best deal of the time.

    Stay put.

S@ver v7 is effectively fixed till 1st April 2011, since EDF promised not to increase their rates until then. That's this winter sorted.

I nust check my current rates against the cheapest recommended by the comparison sites. I just thought with moneysavingexpert recommending changing I should change now.
