    Hi Littlestar,

I had the same problem a week or so ago, they don't make it that obvious as to how to get your money back, other than requesting it "in writing"!

Anyway, I popped into my local Post Office and they had a form ready and waiting behind the counter.

Good news is that the turn around is quite quick. I filled in and posted off the form with my premium bonds certificate on a Friday, and the money was in my current account on the next Wednesday! I only took part of my money out, so a revised premium bond certificate arrived through the post a couple of days later for the lower amount.

    HTH!

You can also ring or e-mail them and ask them to send the form out to you - NS&I

On the contrary, as I have been trying to explain on this thread, they go down in value over time, due to the effects of inflation. This is a concept which very few people seem able to grasp, though.

I would advise anyone holding premium bonds to keep a form to hand just in case you need to get hold of the cash pretty quick.

Money is much more exciting than anything it buys.
