Have a look at this but note range is restrictive

I use a WDTV HD Live for exactly this and it works perfectly. You would need to buy a wireless USB dongle to go with it (Google to find a suitable match as not all work), but bear in mind that any video over a wireless link can be a problem, depending on distance and the number/construction of walls and floors it has to pass through. Another solution would be to use Solwise (or similar) Home Plug or power line networking with the WDTV.0

I have the older model Apple TV and that syncs nicely with photo's on my PC to either display as a slide show or flick into 'screensaver' mode when photo's randomly float up/doown the screen from your album.
Can also stream music (apple and non apple), movies (mainly apple), show the latest trailers of films on in the cinema and give you youtube on your TV
The 2nd gen i think they ditched a few features in order to cut the price, comes with built in wifi so no need for extra dongle
Needs a free HDMI socket tho rather than 'PC monitor' VGA (its HD after all!)0
