Hi,
I have a wired and one wireless PC.
I would like to send my I-Player broadband signal to my lounge TV without wires.
I have a USB port on my TV.
Freesat recommend a Homeplug type connection for I -Player but could I not use my existing wireless Broadband connection/router?
What additional gear would I need and how stable would be the wireless connection to the TV?

If your TV is not internet enabled as I suspect, then you will either have to connect the video out from your PC to the TV, assuming its got VGA, or buy a Wii and use its wireless/internet capabilities.
Or you could just buy an internet TV.
PS i think some freesat/freeview boxes have internet these days.
If you have a freesat box with an ethernet connection then the best way to connect it to your router is probably by homeplugs. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

I think a Wii or PS3 is probably the simplest solution
OP,it really depends on whether you can output your PC display to your TV
what connections does your PC have?0 -
My freesat HD box has an ethernet port. So probably best is to buy a couple of Homeplugs and connect via mains electric system?0

not really.what are you expecting to happen when you plug in the ethernet to the freesat box?
what features does the freesat box have over ethernet?0 -
I'm getting one of these next week

Basically makes your TV like a Sony Internet TV . so BBC I player ect
biggest pull for me is that you can stream and watch LoveFilm titles for free , with a suitable package .
1080P output as well .Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -

its basically a PS3 without the bluray or games features (excluding the catch up TV)0 -
I'm 99% sure that nintendo decided to remove iplayer from the wii when they updated the internet channel, so to have iplayer on a console you will have to use the ps3.
but if your phone can have iplayer and has a video out you could do it that way, obviously could be pretty low quality, depending on the mobile, I know it works on the N95 and on the N80 -

ah they must have made it a dedicated channel like there were going to do, but they did break it in the internet channel but it was over a year ago, dont know if they fixed it but with a dedicated channel there would be no need to0
