URGENT - Question about Woolworths Big Red Book payment

Hi,

I've just tried to buy an item for my son for Xmas from the Woolworths Big Red Book. I went to the till in store and gave them the slip. The cashier rang it through the till, but when I gave her the payment in High Street vouchers she said that I couldn't use them to pay for things from the catalogue.

Is this correct? The majority of the presents that our children want are in the book, and we have been saving all year long for the High Street vouchers. In the back of the book it shows the available payment methods, and does show High Street Vouchers as a method of in-store payment.

However, below this it then says that vouchers cannot be used for in-store or phoneline purchases. Surely this contradicts itself. I can understand not being able to use them for phone and internet orders, but surely in-store orders should be okay. I'm now wondering if this is a typo in the book.

Any help would be appreciated, as if we can't use them, we're going to have a big problem this Xmas. :mad:

Personally I don't understand that ... If you can't use them online or over the phone or in store where can you use them??????

Madness. Is there no other store that sells whatever it is you want to buy?

Try calling Woolies Head Office or Customer Service line - the numbers should be in the catalogue. They should be able to shed some light

hi sorry no you cant use vouchers to pay for things on iso as yet. Did the sales assistant check to see if the item was in stock in store first as alot of the things are in the shop.

I used to save for these vouchers and it was for exactly these reasons i stopped doing so,you used to be able to get £5 off if you spent £50 in xmas catalogues a couple of years ago but excluded the high st vouchers etc which was discusting .

i noticed that argos have changed their terms this year for the £5 or £10 back on £50 or £100 spends. they are now including using vouchers such as high street and provident etc in this offer. about time too.

That us awful - a few of the lego sets I was going to order for Christmas are not available instore - only in the Big Book and again I have been saving up for High Street Vouchers! Looks like I won't be doing that again either ( although Farepak has put me off).

I also wondered if anyone knew what happens if there is an offer on an item ie Lego 20% off ( they usually do this every christmasfor one week only), would you get this discount if you ordered through the red book?

You got an extra thanks then cos I pressed the wrong button. But you did make me wonder (so thank you anyway) can you buy woollies vouchers with the high street vouchers and then use the woollies vouchers to purchase things from the red book? If that makes sense!

I've just rang a college up and she says we do now take vouchers.

Im sorry for saying we dont but noone bothered to tell me!! (the person who works on the till) lol
