LLoyds TSB faster payments at weekends.

Hi there,
I've just sent someone a payment for about £200 from one lloydstsb account to another. It was scheduled to leave straight away. However it hasn't arrived in my dads account and now i see that there is a pending payment in the payments section saying that it is scheduled to leave on 6/12. Has anyone had this happen before - is it because its a weekend. Or maybe because he was added as a new payee? My dad needs the money today really.
Thanks very much
Jon Bradley

It's weekend so you can't make, BACS, CHAPS or Faster Payments.
You have to send them within your banks payment window, which will be Mon-Fri 8am till ?.
You also can't send them on Bank Holidays
It will say Online the earliest date the payment will go.
Only way to get the money to him today, is to cancel that payment and drew cash out the ATM and give him the cash, this might not be possible but it's the only sure way of doing it.0 -
It's weekend so you can't make...Faster Payments.
Are you generalising or talking specifically about LTSB?
EDIT: from the LTSB help pages...Faster Payments is a service for personal and offshore customers that will let you make single immediate (one-off) payments over the phone or online between participating banks, all day, every day.

That's unusual. Lloyds normally process Faster Payments instantly even at weekends. If there's an option to cancel the scheduled payment you could try cancelling it and trying again. Alternatively you could try asking their phone banking service and see if they can make a Faster Payment for you.0 -

If you can make head or tail of this, I thought Lloyds classed Saturday & Sunday as Non-Working Days, but reading this only Saturday is....
Quote:
* If you have added a new recipient and want to make a payment, it will be sent via BACS so you should allow 3 to 4 working days to get to the recipient’s account.
** A normal working day runs from 22:00 to 22:00 the following day, however on a Friday evening the working day runs from 22:00 to 12:00 on Sunday (as Saturday is classed as a non-working day) and then from Sunday 12:00 to 22:00 on Monday.
Bank Holidays: On a Bank Holiday Monday, the working day will still start from Sunday 12:00 but will continue until 22:00 Tuesday (Bank Holiday Monday is skipped). Where a Bank Holiday falls on a Friday (i.e. Good Friday) the working day will start on Thursday 22:00 and continue until 12:00 Sunday. All other Bank Holidays (i.e. Christmas) are skipped in the same way as explained above and the working day would therefore be extended until the next working day.
Now I'm confused....:o0 -
My FPs from Lloyds are working today. Must be because it's a new payee.0
