I'm dithering on where to book-help needed

It seems very simple.

All I want is 1 or 2 weeks holiday next July.

There are 2 adults, 2 children(9 and 16).

Our requirements are:

Near the beach
Easy transfer from airport
Preferably Spain
We don't drive so no car hire.
1 child a bit old for kids club, and we re not particularly interested in kids club/evening entertainment in the hotel.

And I'm dithering like a good one - haven't a clue where to book - you would think it would be easy but I need help.

The cost is not too much of an issue, I understand that I shouldn't plump for the cheapest bargain in Benidorm but we can't afford 2k+

We are open to self catering, half board and all inclusive and this in itself is making choosing more difficult.

So, if you have a place you really enjoyed visiting that you think would be ideal for us as a family I would love to hear from you.

Thank you in advance.

We are great lovers of Mallorca, we tend to stay in Alcudia (the port end) which gives you access to a huge expanse of sandy beach with lovely shallow waters. It has the ususal mix of holiday destination amenities as well as a waterpark. The old town is easily walkable and the bus service to other parts of the island are very good and cheap.
  • I have PM'd you.

If you do go to Benidorm there's lots to do for everyone.
There is a chain of all inclusives that are dotted around & you can use them all for a bit of veriety, there is a free bus that goes between them.

The chain is Magic amigos, we've stayed loads at the Monica in Finestrat, that's south of Benidorm, close enough to get the bus there but far enough away that it's not all in your face!
the other hotels are in the main area, near the beach, there's also one in the old town.

    Hope that helps

Easyjet to Malaga then bus or train to Torre Del Mar, it's to the East of Malaga, lovely long promenade, miles of beach, playpark with adult gym equipment on the perimeter and bike hire too. PLenty of bars and shops, but not too tacky.

Would be a nice place to relax for a week or two, imho, and because it seems to be off the beaten Thomas Cook track you shouldn't be surrounded by too many football shirts, if you get my drift.;)

  • We are returning to Puerto San Miguel Ibiza for the fourth time next July. We stay in the San Miguel hotel which is all inclusive. Took two other families with us last year and they are coming back too. We have made many friends there as people return year after year. It is the most friendly place we have ever stayed and the staff are brilliant. The resort is small but very pretty. My kids (age 11 and 17) both love it there. My son was 15 the first year we went and really didn't want to come with us but he ended up having a ball and has made many friends there. Looks like I'll be paying for him to come on holidays with me for a few more years! Night time entertainment is outdoors can be a bit rowdy but is good fun. There are several quieter bars you can use though.

    Thank you all,

I've had a look at the suggestions and Torre Del Mar seems ideal for us!!!

We went to Fuengirola previously and getting there from East Mids was dead easy - and we found it very reasonably priced.

Thanks so much for everyone's help.
