Ebid are great, they have a referal scheme, check out my post on the referers board for more details!

this not quite free they charge 99p for 7 days and other charges depending on how long you want to use it but it is cheaper than ebay. and Amazon so may use it or do I not need to pay these charges?

Yeah i agree. I've tried Ebid and QXL and hardly sold anything. In fact i made a loss.

I would have thought it was obvoius eBid has many fewer visitors than eBay, otherwise why would they be so much cheaper?! :rolleyes:

Confused you say it isn't free, that's not what their FAQ states here. The free auction listing is limited of course as you can see. There is mention of a security fee being charged here to stop time wasters but surely that's a one-off?

The way I see it is you pays your money and takes your choices!

The payments company Nochex is just starting up an auction site: Nochex Classifieds.

It was suggested that this will be 'free' for a few weeks. But there are strings attached - eg you need to offer Nochex as at least one payment method.

I believe that there was mention of some free credits if you sign up. Then later in the year (April/May ??) the one charge for selling would be 25p I believe.

But have a look - it is new. It could prove an interesting alternative to ebay eventually.

I saw the ad for the nochex classified but for me it is too expensive considering the currently low number of users. At least on ebay there are millions of users which mean more potential buyers.

I know there are no final fees but each ad is 25p which is an expensive gamble for a new site. Most other auction or classified sites offer totoally free usage for a while when they set up and still never attract the business.

You are also tied to having nochex as a payment option which means more fees. At least ebay at the moment at least, pretend not to tie you into paypal by making it a definite requirement.
