I was up at stupid o'clock as well, but mostly because I was so knackered last night after 8 night shifts in a row that I was in bed at 7pm!
Decorations went up yesterday, this morning I made some bread, dusted, tidied and vacuumed the house (we keep it fairly tidy anyway so it only ever takes an hour) and we nipped to B&Q to pick up some gloss paint to touch up the banisters from where I chipped the paint getting the decorations down! Oops! :rotfl:
Now we're having a post-lunch (homemade soup and some more of the bread) laze in front of the tellybox. I like to get up early and get the necessities done so we can relax guilt-free! We're off to the OH's christmas meal tonight (Pre-paid! Yay!) so will be too tired and hungover to do anything of use tomorrow!
Have a good weekend MSE'ers!

Tenmah~Could you maybe go on the train?
I could Beanie, but the thought of hanging around on draughty platforms waiting for trains that might be delayed kinda fills me with dread! At least with a car I am in control!
Are you still not able to get out? The roads look clear here, but the pavements are still very slushy and icy.
Well the decs are up. It is a job I love and hate at the sametime. One of us always seems to get stroppy over something!OD [STRIKE] £2600 [/STRIKE] £0 :j Loan [STRIKE]£9500.00[/STRIKE] £0 :j Car [STRIKE]£3150[/STRIKE] £0 :j Moving Costs [STRIKE]£1300[/STRIKE] £0 :j Savings £1150 :j

Tenmah, I would be tempted to go on the train, but then I'm talking from the perspective of last Saturday when I was lucky to get back from York and not end up in a snowdrift.
This is another brief visitation from me in the library - and it won't let me access Facebook
Broadband should be in the house by about 21 Dec.
I am hoping to make some christmas pressies this weekend, finish my research assignment and start my sustainability assignment. I would also like to go for a run tomorrow on the beach IF I can get the car out, which is a BIG IF. Had to dig myself out twice on Thursday and a neighbour on Friday. Frankly a bit sick of snow!
The odd job man is coming round on Tuesday to un-board my loft. The surveyor came on Friday and they can insulate it for £99 but I have to get it unboarded first. The odd job man will cost me but he's £100 a day so the whole thing should cost me £199. I'm fairly sure half of it will have to go on my flexible friend. At least I'll be warm.
BUT I have just seen a possible job for me with Nomad, a housing association up here (need to get a part-time housing related job to go with my full time housing course!) Its for a casual worker.
Potential lodger is coming round on Tuesday assuming he can get in the road!

Good Luck with the possible job Butti. How are you finding the course? I work in housing and have often thought about doing a housing management course, but to be honest my abilitity to take things in these days is not so good!
Thanks for the tip about the train. It is just the thought of lugging a suitcase about as well. When I booked to go on it, I assumed I would be driving, if I had thought I would have to get the train, I wouldn't have agreed to go on it.
Have now wrapped up a few presents, so feel good that I have made a start at least!OD [STRIKE] £2600 [/STRIKE] £0 :j Loan [STRIKE]£9500.00[/STRIKE] £0 :j Car [STRIKE]£3150[/STRIKE] £0 :j Moving Costs [STRIKE]£1300[/STRIKE] £0 :j Savings £1150 :j
