yep they are very big in america basically the currys of america and the want a piece of the UK market, yes they are new but they have opened several stores and should be fine to buy from them online.

but have you shopped arround for deals? HMV you get something like a £20 gift card (for HMV) and a £25 itunes gift card (for apps [STRIKE]or music[/STRIKE] not music it is cheaper on amazon), also currys have something like a speaker dock and a gift card I think.

One of the suggested strengths of Best Buy is that you are supposed to get intelligent and accurate technical advice from their staff, rather than some sales spiel trying to get you to buy an extended guarantee, or something unnecessary, inappropriate or ludicrously expensive (cables, anyone?).

(Feel free to speculate about the stores I might be referring to in the second half of the previous sentence... )
  • Best Buy are the biggest electrical retailer in the world I think so you should be safe...

In addition they are in a 50/50 partnership with The Carphone Warehouse in the UK.

I also think that they will beat any other price and give you 10% of the difference in cash as well.

whereas that is the impression they want to achieve in the UK (at least to steal customers from currys or comet) you only have to do a quick google to find out they have had as bad if not worst or worst 'salesmanship' in the US. and more

only time will tell if they end up like that here in the UK

So much for the intention, then. A bit worrying that they are using the term "the Geek Squad", also...

A major shame as CPW is even worse than the likes of PC World and Currys.
Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????

Just to add the rates on Quidco (14.89%)and other cash back sites are very high at the moment for Best Buy.
