Sticking curtain rail

Our plastic curtain rail - new when we put it up a couple of months ago to hang a fleece curtain over the front door - has started 'sticking'. We are using the hooks that came with the rail and everything has been wiped clean just incase the problem was dust. Nothing unusual has happened to it other than the recent drop in temperature. Is there a quick and easy trick (like something to lubricate the rail with) to get it running smoothly again?

Many thanks
Bx

Any furniture polish should do it, you can use it for squeaky hinges too :)

Bought a can of silicone spray yesterday and after spraying the smallest bit and wiping it all over the rail it now works like a dream. I'll be doing all the other rails soon. That stuff is magic - how come I'd never heard of it before?!

    Thanks again

Excellent. The advantage of silicone grease would be that there'll be no overspray on everything else. Never mind you've got it cracked.

    Cheers
