section 21 issued do i need to give notice

hello all
i am new to this and i have been served with a section 21 by my landlaord and i have since found a new place to live
do i need to give 1 months notice as they say i do and they are trying to keep my deposit witch is with DPS i have tried every where and are unable to find any information

When does you S21 require you to leave?If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

The landlord effectively waives their right to notice by serving you with notice. Hence you can leave anytime you want as long as you pay pro-rata upto the day you actually leave. The landlord might not like it but they cannot have their cake and eat it. If they do not accept this approach then go to arbitration when dealing with your deposit at after you have left - it'll take longer but you should win.0
