Sharing a happy ending...

I posted almost a month ago about finding a young cat whilst my husband and I were out for a walk. He was very, very hungry but very friendly and with some misgivings, we ended up taking him home with us - was he someone's cat??!!

Well, to up-date everyone, we never found his owner despite much advertising and four different cat owners who'd lost a cat coming to see him....

So, with cautious integration with our existing two 7yr old cats, the newly named 'Sir Lancelot' (because he prances a lot) has become part of our family. Lancelot desperately wants to stay and is trying very hard to fit in with us humans - though he's still a bit too 'in your face' with our two cats and will on occasion suddenly pounce on them out of the blue. There have been 'turf wars' over who gets to sleep on our bed and I suspect Sir L is naturally a more dominant cat than our not very bold ginger boy.

All in all, despite several set backs and some fierce catty run-ins I wish hadn't happened, I have great hope that he will be fully accepted by our two adult cats. At the moment they will all eat together & sit together, but Lancelot does tend to be twitchy and will suddenly leap up at an unexpected noise. I'm sure this scardy, nervous behaviour has something to do with his life prior to us.

Thanks for reading this far!

Yup you are officially Rock n Roll :D
  • Many years ago with two older cats already, I took in a kitten. It wanted to play and other other cats didn't want to - so was beaten up often until I ended up taking in another kitten! They all got on much better then as the kittens could play together.

Not that I'd suggest getting another cat! :)
  • how lovely! :)
