I had to provide a shed load of ID
I guess the missing leaflet is this one.

Looks like they want 2 documents to confirm your ID. Hardly a "shed load".

    Yes, that's why I said "my". ;)

I bagged 3 before they placed the 1 per sole customer restriction on, and then redesignated my HICA a Reward account to make 4.

In the same boat as you. Got 4 in total. Nice side earner

I opened one of these A/c's online last week, all setup ok so I thought; I credited the £1000 into the A/c on 30th Nov. same day got a letter stating I had to provide a shed load of ID and the enclosed leaflet explains more, but there wasn't an enclosed leaflet.

So now I can't get my money out of the A/c, won't let me transfer online, no debit card etc. When I can get into town I'll take everything with me to the branch and put in a complaint.

You can't complain, same happend to me so its not just personnal discrimination. However when I did take the ID in (letters and bills, not passports etc), they didn't even look at it (but I was a Halifax credit card customer) and the account became no longer 'read only' - I'd complain if this happens to you Chorlie.

When did they put a 1 per customer limit on them? I have 2 the second opened fairly recently in order to make sure I get more money back from the Halifax than Lloyds charge for my other account.
I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.

Still the £5 was showing on 1st Dec....

I had the same letter without the leaflet aswell, and I called them up and they told me my account was fully verified and didn't need to provide any extra ID, all they needed was the signed form back, which I handed in on my way to work on Monday. It's a standard letter that is sent out, regardless of whether you need extra ID or not. Silly really, but when I handed my form in, the woman who took the form didn't ask for anything else
Debt free and staying that way!

The letter didn't ask for 2 it asked for Passport, Driving License, Last 3 wage slips, a recent utility bill and a government issued letter.

    They can't be photocopies

Now it doesn't state if I have to take these to the branch or post them somewhere (I'm guessing the branch), the letter is very unclear and the added information leaflet is missing.

So I do class having to take 5 things a shed load.

I can complain, The definition of a complaint is "an expression of disatisfaction, oral or written, justified or not"

So since they have missed included information ie the leaflet that explains fully what I need to do and the letter being unclear (to me at least) I feel I have every right to complain, whether you or they think it's justified or not.

That must be for new customers as I have 2 and one of them is only a couple of months old.

No. As Mikeyorks says, it's been in force since November 2009. It's just that some people, yourself included, got lucky. ;)
