Stopping Sky Drive

Hi
If you send .jpgs from Live Mail, it seems to upload them to Sky Drive. Any idea how to stop it and send them normally, other than zipping the files or changing the extensions.
It's really annoying. I sent some photos to my insurance company (we were burgled) and it's taken them a week to tell me they can't access Sky Drive.
