Trip Advisor Web Site

 Has anybody else suffered the high handed attitude of Trip Adivisor. They posted 10 reviews that I had written at the beginning of November then suddenly at the beginning of this week removed them all without any explanation. I have tried contacting them by e Mail and on their site but do you think I can get a response. All I want to know is the reason as I spent a lot of time and effort writing them. Why publish then remove them all 3 weeks later. If it had been one review I would have perhaps understood, but all of the. surely not!! I would be interested in any comments if others have suffered or why Trip advisor choose to ignore me.

It sounds like they think you are either associated with the hotels in question, or that you have posted something libellous. Either way, it is a private website, they can do as they wish.

    Part of the Furniture
or possibly posting so many reviews at once caused them to flag in their system - it may be that their sites screen out things like that on the basis that they may not be genuine (i.e. some clever person has written a program to spray a load of reviews out or something in order to try to screw with the site).
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

I've read somewhere that if nothing is posted on the subject, within a period of time, the subject is deleted.

That would be on the forum - and they lock the threads, they are still searchable. The OP posted reviews, which should stay there forever.

As mentioned it sounds like Tripadvisor flagged them as potentially illegitimate, maybe they were all in one area? (which would perhaps flag you as a competitor trying to lower neighbours scores etc) dates very close to each other tripadvisor may deem that you didnt stay at them all? Perhaps they did not meet the requirements set out by tripadvisor, no name mentioning etc?

Also if they were negative reviews, hotel management can dispute your reviews on many grounds, including breaking the posting rules (which isnt always spotted by tripadvisor originally). They can claim you never stayed with them etc.

Really only way to find out would be if you can get hold of them if you are really that bothered about it.
