Anyone else having problems with Imperial Leather soap bars?

We've bought Imperial Leather soap bars for very many years now, but the last couple of multi-pack batches have been truly awful. I just wanted to know whether anyone else has experienced the same thing?

If only one batch had been affected, we would have put it down to a bad lot, but this second batch (bought months after the first) is just as bad.

After a few uses, the soap becomes soft, soggy and disintegrates into several pieces. The bar we're using at the moment went from full-sized to 8 little pieces in moments. It's almost impossible to use, makes a slimy mess everywhere and lasts for very little time.

I wonder if they're using a new "improved" recipe? Whatever the case, I doubt I'll be buying anymore. Such a shame as it used to be really good.

We have the same problem, the last few bars we have opened have soon gone all sloppy and messy really quickly! Quite odd.

Let me know if you find out any more!

Thanks, gyroscope - so it's not just us! I've emailed the Imperial Leather site to try to find out what they've changed to make their formerly good soap so rubbish these days. Will definitely update if I get a reply.

hippygran - I asked my hubby what he'd been doing to the soap as well!

Got to agree with tbw, though. Never admit to them that you might have got something wrong. ;-)
