I've downloaded 2 RAR files & extracted them to a folder. They are now COT files but I want them to be PDF for an e reader.
What do I need to be able to convert them.
Thanks

Are you certain the file extension is .cot? It's not a commonly used one - the only one I can find is a raster graphics image file, which you would not expect to use for anything text-based.0

Thanks for replying FWOR.
When I've extracted them from Win rar they show as COT files but when I open them they are MP3 & play on Media player as a talking book !!0 -
Are you sure that the explanation is not that Windows is set to "hide known extensions", and that the extension is actually .mp3?
Whatever, there's no easy way to convert a talking book file to a .pdf!0 -
I agree you probably have hide known file extensions enabled. That can be dangerous as you seem to download stuff
and do not have a clue what you have just downloaded.
The file could have been called "A song.mp3" But when you try to play it you find out it was "A song.mp3.EXE"
Which could have taken over your computer and installed all sorts of virus/malware.

Thank you forgotmyname for your advice.
This was the first time I have tried to download an e book & it didn't work so I came here for help. I thought I was downloading an e book from a trustworthy site, if I had thought it was dangerous I would never have downloaded it.
I have since downloaded another e book from the same site & it downloaded as a PDF file & works on my ereader0
