Health Insurance PPP/AXA

my company are in the progress of renewing our private health care - we are currently with BUPA. Due to the significant annual price increase, we have been looking at PPP/AXA as a potential alternative.

From a business point of view, does anyone have any comments/reviews about them re health insurance providers?

Thank you

The company I used to work for used (still does) AXA PPP, I had to use them several times and never once had a problem, really quick and no disagreements; I never once heard anyone complain about them in work, but I guess it depends on the policy taken out, this was a multi national company so must of been costing them £££££ to provide it, so I'd guess PPP wouldn't want to loose this contract and therefore may of acted quicker etc than for others.

Carefull with axa ppp's, standard life, aviva and most other insurers inferior stance on cancer. They only cover 12 months on cancer drugs and do not cover palliative care (so when you are terminal they cease paying out).

Other than their cancer cover axa are good in my opinion. But cancer cover is one of the main reasons most people take out PMI so could be a huge pitfall as cancer drugs can cost £50,000 a year or even more.

P.s. If you have level 1 cover with axa you get 36 months cancer drugs.

Bupa, Pruhealth and the phc cover cancer in full and do not have the limits above.

If you are using a good independent health insurance broker this should be pointed out to you.

Many people are with axa, aviva and standard life etc and will probably not know these limits exist. If you move from an insurer with full cancer cover to an insurer with less it's best advice to inform clients of this.

The last thing the decision maker in your company wants, is to make the decision to move insurers (not be informed that the cancer covers different) and then get blamed if someone was to get something like cancer because the benefits not being as good now as with the previous insurer.

    Hope i've been of help.
