Stagestruck Dancewear - Stay Away!!!

As a dancer/dance teacher I have made many purchases of dancewear online from various sites and have never had any problems. You pay and then a couple of days later you receive your product. That was until I used Stagestruck Dancewear! (stagestruck.co.uk, stagestruckdancewear.com)

I made a purchase of some dance shoes which I ordered and the money was debited from my account on the day. The delivery guide on the site was 3-10 business days - 10 days passed, no shoes and no contact. I called them and was told that they weren't in stock (surely the guide of 3-10 days is to allow for out of stock items!) I was then informed that the shoes would be with me in another 7-10 days! Wait 20 days for an online purchase, how ridiculous!

I was offered a refund which of course I took up. They said that once actioned the money would be back to me within 1-3 business days and I would receive an automatic email once it had been actioned. 5 days passed, suprise suprise no email and no refund! Stagestruck dancewear at this point has had my money for 3 weeks! Understandably this was very frustrating and I am still waiting for my refund...

I should have read the numerous negative reviews on the internet expressing the same problems!!! I honestly believe, judging by other customer comments that they simply have no stock or in fact any idea of customer service!

Any advice?? :(

Just write to them at the address given on their web page (send recorded) giving them 7 days from receipt of letter to refund your money, otherwise you will take them to court.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
  • Ask your card company to retrieve your money, mine has a Transaction Dispute form with various reasons for why I want my money recovered........and I'm currently using it to retrieve money from another shoddy on-line merchant.

You will have to show agreed delivery was not adhered to, that refund wasn't received within agreed timescale (the site should have T&C's where you can print just the relevant parts), and that you've attempted to be reasonable with the merchant yourself before asking your card provider to step in. Don't take too long, mine has a 60 day 'cut off' from the time the transaction appeared on my statement (think after that it becomes more difficult, but not impossible).
  • thanks folks.. I have managed to get some movement today... fingers crossed it will be actioned!!
