A Sally Army member lives next to my Mother and is the biggest busy body, gossip and trouble causing old bat that I have ever met .

You mean all SA members aren't perfect. Shock! Just like any other organisation then....

The Salvation Army do a marvellous job, especially for the homeless. I'd never criticise them.

I agree with you - I'm not a believer, and don't usually get involved with any Bible thumpers, but they do a brilliant job in London, and if more charities, and their workers, were like them, it would really make a difference to the lives of a lot of people.

They get themselves out there, and actually do the dirty work, instead of just pontificating about what needs to be done.:T:T

Long may they continue with their good work.

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset. ;)

I have a NON SA member living next to me, and she is exactly the same as your mother's neighbour.

Takes all sorts to make a world. I don't think your mother's neighbour is as you describe BECAUSE she's a member of the SA. Maybe she's just like that, DESPITE being a member.

I've been requested by PM to phone the headquarters, they got back to me today and confirmed these guys were not SA staff and are going to report it to the police.

Thanks Col7777, I think it would now be great if everyone on this forum could give folks the heads up that there are fake Salvation Army collectors out there.

Glad to hear that. it serves as a good warning to others. I believe in the good that the Sally army do - and not just the aid work..

    Very good councillors there..

No, chuggers are employed by a charity to fundraise on their behalf. They are paid a commission based on what they raise.

The SA does not employ chuggers. This pair are fraudsters and it is likely that none or very little of the money makes its way to the SA.

They are chuggers and their organization states in the small print that it "supports" the SA. However in the first few years very little money goes to the SA. Have a look at the SA, who do you make it out to?
The latest thing is that they ask for your card number and set up a monthly card payment and YOU cannot cancel it!
If you want to support an organization give the money direct. Last year we didn't send any Christmas cards, just handed some to people we saw, put a note on Facebook and made a donation to the SA who do a lot of good work for the homeless at Christmas.
You have made this assertion with absolutely NO PROOF whatsoever!

You are totally obsessed with chuggers! The Salvation Army does not employ chuggers, never has and never will do.
If they have indeed got "bits of uniform from ebay" then they are scammers or con artists hence police involvement!
You need to think a little more before you post daft assertions like these!
