Am I missing something? If you recently bought an item at full price, what's to stop you buying it again at sale price and returning the full price item for the original price? As long as the item you're returning is new and unused and you are only getting back what you paid, how is that illegal?

I'm confused too ... if the pair of shoes that you give back to the shop are new and identical to the pair you paid full price for, how would anyone know, and how are the shop losing out at all?

They lose out the exact amount that the OP gains + the additional cost of logistics & staffing.

I've ordered some school shoes for my DD in a size bigger hoping to put them away. I've never ordered online before, do I need to take her along to get them fitted, as they'll be a size to big will I be getting that plonker look?

No you don't have to have them fitted, or even have dd with you. They will write self fit on the receipt which means you were happy to buy them in that size knowing you hadn't taken the professional shoe fitting service. HTH
  • I don't know why there's an arguement. There's nothing wrong with buying something full price then if a couple of days later it gets reduced buy it again and return them at full price. if there were losing out then they wouldn't have sales. they still make a profit. Clarks are very highly priced so when they have a sale the prices are more reasonable and realistic.

Seriously, moral or immoral if you really think Clarks isn't making a healthy profit out of a tiny pair of over priced shoes even at half price you're deluded.

Has everyone here all got new jobs at Clarks or something? This started as someone trying to help and turned all the MSE'rs against each other...it's nearly Christmas, can't we all just get along? :D:D:D

Somebody has decided to be petty and go into the ethics that the first purchase has been worn, so they will be returning the actual pair bought in the sale in the box with receipt from the full price ones.

Its moneysaving, its a suggestion which a lot of parents could make use of in the run up to christmas but there's always one or two who decide they are the Internet police and take the job way too seriously. Me...I'd take them back...would I feel bad?...no I wouldn't. I'm sure the real Police have far more urgent calls to attend to.... now where's my snowman gone? :p

You could be missing the fact that the "used" item will be kept & the "new" item bought cheaply is returned for a full priced refund.

Unless of course clarks allow you to return used items with no fault & that fit correctly just because you feel like it.

Oh, I see, completely misunderstood that then! I'm with mookie on this one- it's cheeky yes, but hardly something the police are going to concern themselves with. Besides, this is the grabbit board- it's a happy place, let's not ruin it by arguing :D
  • but its legal for them to overprice something and sell it cheaper the next day....lol
actually i have in the passed called a shop to say i purchased this item less the 7 days ago and now its halfprice...what you gonna do about it....if they say nothing and tough then i explain the plan of buying at the cheap price and returning it with the old reciept...that soon makes them back down and negotiate something...lol

    I don't seriously think anything.

Someone asked a question & they got a proper answer.

Unlike some of the answers/statements made on here that are misguided at best.

I am not the one arguing.

    Just stating fact.
