Not cheap cheap but we stayed in Le Meridian off Las Ramblas which was in a superb location. The hotel itself was ideal given the little time we spent in our room.0

Have you got any tesco vouchers? You can spend them on Barcelo hotels http://www.tesco.com/clubcard/deals/product.aspx?R=1175Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Have a look at Hotel Principal. My parents stayed there and it was a reasonable price.
EDIT: Just had a look, you can get 3 nights for about £170 in January (through booking.com).0 -

I stayed there last year and it is definitely one of the cheapest, it's just of Las Ramblas aswell. We booked through last minute.comMarried 1st October 2015:heartpuls

3 mins on the metro is aparthotel silver which is great and in a nice location approx 1 min walk from fontana metro station, got back from their last weekend and can highly recommend itLive each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0

On my last visit to Barcelona I stayed at the Praktik Hotel, just checked prices and it's 54 Euros per night in January. Closest Metro station is Girona and it's a few minutes walk from Passeig de Gracia (bars, restaurants and shops) and Placa de Catalunya.0

Try Hotel Lloret which is based on the Ramblas, i stayed there around 5 years back and thought it was very good value for what it was0

We used Habitat apartments when we went.

We stayed at the Alibei apratments for 4 nights - pretty central and found it easy enough to walk to the Ramblas, waterfront, zoo etc.
Apartments were a good standard and will use again next year.
Obviously the more people that go - the cheaper the accomodation is per person.0
