Banks calling customers

I may be naive but I hadn't realised bank staff could access everyone's accounts without some restrictions in place. Now I'm going to be a bit wary in our local branch as some of our neighbours work there!0

Not in the bank I work for. I have access to any account without needing to go through ID with a customer.
On my last visit to a Barclays branch I was handed a PinSentry machine to use out of view then hand it back with the one time access codes on display. They couldn't access the account details without that. Obviously banks vary.0 -
My bank(Lloyds) called me from a mobile phone, someone identified themselves as my "account manager" but came from another branch. I would not speak to them and after a written complaint I was told I could have opted out of sales calls on their web site. I sent them a screenshot showing I could only opt out of email and mail sales. They then said "Ah yes, we have to do this behind the scenes for telephone contact. Now done"
All the time I was left with the impression that they believe this is a reasonable way to carry on, security is for other people and if I don't like it I can go elsewhere. IMO Lloyds has gone very seriously downhill in the last 12-18 months.0 -
I usually get a phone call from my bank Lloyds very soon after I make a large deposit into my current account, rather like vultures in the Serengeti.
Unfortunately for them it's usually all accounted for before they try to get their mucky paws on it.0 -
