Hi All

Managed to back up in the end and have reinstalle windows but on my computer it says that 70 of the 80g of the hard drive is used. How can this be? I did the install that says it will delete all previous data etc. Need to free up some space so kids can put some (loads!) music on it.

Do i need to format it first? Or now? Please help!!!

Thanks in advance.

This program makes it very easy to see what is taking up space, did you choose to format partition while re-installing?

    Thanks

Didn't get a format partition option?
I am currently installing windows 7 so that may do the trick, I hope!

You get the option of loading windows on top (leaving all other files intact), or a complete reinstall which would mean you need to RIGHT CLICK on the hardrive and select FORMAT (Near the beginning of loading windows 7 disc), then reinstall windows (You may also want to delete partitions and create a new one if you wish to amalgamate partitions before formatting)

  • Odds are you haven't created the partition correctly.

Go to control panel > admin tools > computer management > disk manager and take a screenshot
