Sorry I did not pick up on the simple averages justifying the probability of dying before claiming the lottery prize.

What happens if you die between purchase and claim: powerful incentive to your executor and the government to get the probate sorted out and share the loot 60:40 ?

Here is link to the pension time bomb (it smells a bit of "National Socialism" & Right Wing leanings, but presumably they would not have been so stupid as to fudge the figures?)

Hopefully the Grauniad will be publishing some of their wonderful "flower petal" graphs soon, to explain the census figures; as long as it does not turn out to be a GIGO exercise.

Someone tells a joke about giving animals matching names. The trouble is, they don't die together so you end up with salt and brandy!

Sorry - I was trying to agree with you but didn't make myself very clear. If you make being famous part of your 'business' they I don't see that you have any right to complain if other parts of your lifestyle that you don't want disclosed are. If you become newsworthy due to some incident (as in a victim of a crime or whatever) then the rest of your life should remain private.

I take your point but it's a bit hard to see how your arguement applies to people that fought and died in a war or had the misfortune to be murdered or their kids to be murdered.
    I think....

Did the "too posh to push" mothers-to-be do their NCT classes?

My horror was the danger of almost having son in the hospital car park: "Keep on blowing out the candles - I'm ringing the bell"

You just make next life partner part of the theme. If the gander goes first the goose can go ''back'' to her first husband.

I had a panic attack during an NCT class. :o though it was nothing to do with the subject matter. Honestly. :p

In a way, the experience was a lucky one, as the person running the course was married to someone who suffered similarly and had connections in the medical world. I gained a great many insights. :)

When I collapsed, this woman knew what was wrong as soon as I grunted, "Don't worry, this happens a lot!".

    I was gobsmacked.

??? Am I dim, or has lir removed the hint? I can't see what J_P is referring to.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

I think you are meant to look for posts made elsewhere on MSE, but I think you should have a guess first. :)
