FB update: Looks like Daisy is going for another operation later today. They have to re-site the peg back that they just re-sited.
Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

When we go on holiday together, my darling wife and I have a little code:
Time to load the dishwasher = put the dishes in the sink
Start the pre-wash cycle = add some water and soap, and leave it to soak
Run the main wash cycle = me (usually) doing the washing up!No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

I think Kenneth Williams said it first.

I know - last time I was at my parents' Carry on Cleo was on the telly (-:...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Nobody in my family has a dish washer, nor has anybody ever had one.
I wash things up while stuff's cooking, then (depending what it was) I'll wash up, or rinse stuff as I serve up. Then, straight after I've eaten, I'll wash up my plate/cutlery and whatever's in soak. I also do 99% of the washing up for the household, even if they think they've already done it

I do ''main'' washing up once a day. Because I'm using immersion to heat water and a take is more than a bathful it makes sense: but it does make it a depressing amount to tackle at the weekends/after I've been properly cooking. I sometimes use the kettle, but find that a bit depressing too.
Generally I'd rather wash up than load washing, if its just me its not many dishes, but this once a day washing means it would be simper to put it in the drawer than at the side of the sink.
