Surely she wasn't driving with eyesight that poor? So why didn't her driver/friend help her?

She was. I am assuming that she is long sighted (ie distance is fine) & it is close up stuff that she cannot see clearly.

In fairness, the location of the ATM has the sun shining directly onto the screen.

I did used to work with a woman who had 2 of the worst hips going, & I knew full well struggled with things like braking in her car, yet used to drive everywhere. I never left work until well after she left!
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

there are plenty of old (and probably not so old) people driving cars around who can't see a bliddy thing! it's also not all that rare to see an old woman who can barely see over the steering wheel!

    That's me :)

Sometimes when I sit on a cushion, I then can't reach the pedals.

Most cars seem to be designed for 6'+ men.

    Congratulations!

House photos please, before and after.

Lovely news on the engagement (is that news?, don't seem to remember it being mentioned).

I get that the wedding ring has to curve around the engagement ring, but why the third ring?

Sorry, the third rings is for my dearly beloved. The thicker one at the end.

We got engaged at Christmas. Only took us 13 years!

    Double congratulations.:j

Am I the only one who immediately thought of this when 'painted model' was mentioned?

Tut, tut. In this case, I mean Isaac's house, created out of various food boxes and loo rolls.

As she leaves, she tells me that she always has to do this - sometimes waiting for someone to come along to help her!

Or do we just worry too much?

Her decision, I suppose - perhaps she is blessed with an optimistic view of human nature?

I thought/assumed NDG was already married. I'm from the "married before kids" generation and it never occurred to me she'd be so slack as to live over the brush!!

    :)

Never quite got round to it, TBH. We moved in together when I was 20 and OH was 19, then had Isaac rather sooner than perhaps we'd quite intended, and while I was pregnant his parents both died - so we've only just got round to it. No danger of marrying in haste, anyway! We've been living together for 13 years now, and I still quite like him.

Double congratulations NDG. When will moving day be? Your rings are beautiful, lucky girl!

I failed to wake up this morning. DD is 6 and she woke me up at 8.19am fully dressed in school uniform, teeth brushed. Then she shouted at DS to get up and succeeded! Everyone made it to school on time, though I didn't get out of the car in the state I was...

It's very, very windy and grey here, miserable.

We don't know yet - first the plastering, then the floors / painting / bathrooms etc. Probably 8 - 10 weeks.

What a clever DD you have! My darling Isaac would have put a DVD on or got his lego out (-:
