It was a bicycle that lost me my two front teeth......only 10 days after being hit by a rock in a park in London.
I was 10 and minus the central part of the two front upper teeth plus the corner of one of them and the tooth next to it! The next 5 years were spent trying to save the teeth initially having to go to the dentist daily, then weekly then monthly, having caps etc until at age 15 and with two very grey looking upper front teeth, the battle was lost and I had to have two false teeth on a plate.
Didn't put me off cycling though......We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
I think I've said before that from about age 4 to 8 I had Wembley Stadium as my playground, so I became very blase about sports that others found exciting.
I loved speedway and the dogs, and almost every night they were on I'd wheedle my way into the ice shows at the Empire Pool, but a lot of the other things bored me to death. I walked out of the 1957 FA Cup.
However, my greatest buzz was nothing directly to do with sport. It was simply being able to use the Queen's toilet in the Royal Box. I would tell everyone at school about that.
Of course there were times when I couldn't, like when she was in it! :rotfl:0 -
Arggghhhh, youngest has just broken the washing machine! He was getting something to drink, dropped the cup which landed on the glass part of the door and the glass has smashed completely.
Can't speak to the insurance company until tomorrow as they are shut today and not even sure if I can make a claim for that anyway. We made it! It's accidental damage so may be covered. It should be pretty obvious from the policy if you're covered for accidental damage.
Whether it's worth claiming and possibly paying a higher premium next year is moot. The glass on a washing machine door is relatively simple to replace in most cases.0 -

You'll probably be able to buy a replacement door quite cheaply if you look online.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Just wanted to check all the nice people who shop to a budget are taking full advantage of the tesco double the difference price match with asda offer. I am having New Zealand rack of lamb again this week - 25£/kg lamb does not often feature on our family table and along side that we have enough free suntan lotion to last the year, ditto dishwasher tablets and several nice bottles of Wolf Blass Cab sauv and chardonay. Check out https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3167752 if you don't know what I am talking about, biggest problem is limiting oneself to £80 of free groceries per day
Every little helps...

Food here is weird and chaotic
I've tried to train my parents about "proper meals" and using up stuff, but they don't listen.
I can't even easily cook for myself as that brings its own huge issues and arguments, and then I have no way to store/re-use stuff easily (fridge is a horrible mess no matter how often I try to sort it out).... so I've given up mostly and just eat junk food/sweets most of the time as it's tiring otherwise.
I don't actually understand all that supermarket stuff in the link to be honest. It'd take a lot of studying/understanding to get my head around it - and most stuff isn't stuff I'd buy even if I were in my own place. I tend to live on basic root vegetables, tins of beans, noodles/rice and the occasional pack of mince or sausages.0 -

Crikey that's complicated. I've got more chance of understanding spread betting:eek:.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

You don't need to understand any of it. Just choose things from the spreadsheet here:
https://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?hl=en_GB&hl=en_GB&key=0AlTY5zCarucZdGtYS29pVEZQTV9sZGgtbWRsejRGLXc&output=html
Go to Tesco and buy enough so that the DTD column in the spreadsheet totals around £20.
Then input the code off your Tesco receipt and Tesco send you a money off coupon.
Then you repeat and repeat and repeat again.
Personally, I couldnt bring myself to buy things I didn't want. But have occasionally claimed the vouchers when my genuine shop has been worth it.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. So, if you buy the things with the red amounts, they're paying you to take the food away.... and that Rack of Lamb Michaels is on about's one of the biggest winners. I see....
So, buy rack of lamb to eat now, for free... and stock up on ladies bikini razors because they pay you to take those away and you can probably flog them on ebay0
