Hmm, I've got a few things I want to do next year:

    1. Sort out finances (there is a reason, which I'll go into on my diary...when I find it)
    2. Stick to the Grocery Challenge
    3. At least half of every month is NSD (so between 14-16 depending on number of days)
    4. Give up smoking
    5. Lose weight
    6. Exercising again
    7. Read all the books I haven't read yet.
    8. Get rid of some of the books I have and don't want any more (chazza or Cex)
    9. Make sure I have savings for all of the year.
    10. BUDGET BUDGET BUDGET!
    ** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **
    ** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **
    **SPC 2012 #1498 -£152 and 1499 ***
I do it all because I'm scared.
  • Mine are:

    1) Get debt down by £5000
    2) No shop-bought bread, all home made!
    3) Save up for a sideboard, we've got everything else in the house done since we moved in - this is the last thing!
    4) Save £365 in my sealed pot for xmas next year.

When I manage number 1 - then our biggie in terms of ambitions will kick in - start trying for a baby :D that's the main point of the DFW ambition!

    Good luck all!
    Dreamer xx

1/ Continue to pay off the remainder of my debt.
2/ Continue to save at least twice as much as my debt repayments.
3/ Keep my gambling under control (as it has been for 2 years now).
4/ Hopeful lose a stone in weight, once I get my leg sorted and get back down the gym.
  • Hi I am 33yrs old and am in severe deby £7k Barclaycard I pay them back £200 per month and I can't see it getting any lower !

Lovely thread, all really positive and awe inspiring:D

    My list so far
    • do the 100 day challenge
    • pay off nw cc£400 and nw cc £1200 by dec 2011, leaving two other cc's and three overdrafts between me and OH.
    • lose 2 stone in weight
    • exercise as soon as my knee's sorted
    • pass driving test
    • budget properly
    • change dd's to correct accounts (OH's idea)
    • keep to MSE grocery challenge.
    • sell more of our stuff on ebay, more surveys, use the money to pay for pressies throughout the year.
    Think that's it for now.

    Good luck all!
  • Great thread.
2010 has been an important year for me MS-wise and I've really tightened my belt. I'm more of a lurker here than a poster but I'd like to thank you all for all your advice and suggestions that I've read over the past year.

    My plans for 2011:
    - write a weekly meal plan and stick to it
    - plough every penny into getting the CC debt down, and work like a trooper to get there!
    - not to get distracted or procrastinate at work (self-employed, so an hour not working is an hour not getting paid)
    - get my debts down to £6000 by end July 2011 and £4000 by end December 2011 (really tough but I WILL do it!)

Not many resolutions, but quite big ones!

Wishing you all good holidays and a great 2011 x
    Emergencies account: £500/500

    4) come the start of November, I will be debt free then can start saving for a mortgage.
    5) and I've saved the most important point for last (well it is for me at least)

Debt free Sometime in November 2013
    £69k left of 90k Mortgage - Overpaying by £270 a month
    Current Savings = £13000
MSE turned my life around years ago
  • Well I would love love love to pay off all my debts by the end of 2011, but unless I win the lottery its not going to happen (debt free date around 2014)....
My work contract will be ending toward the end of the year, so my main resolution is not to end up going bankrupt etc, which depends on finding another job straight away (not sure how likely this is with government making lots of cuts) so i can pay the min monthly ammount due.
Other resolutions include - keep chipping away at the debt, not getting into more. To stop buying sh1te off ebay that I dont need. To take more lunches to work.... and to generally stop frittering money away...

Here's hoping 2011 will be a good one for us all
    Total Debt: 2010 May £28,038. :(
    [STRIKE]July £24,686[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]August £24,275 [/STRIKE] September £23,791 (15.1% paid off)
