3 car seats in a C-Max?

Does anyone know if you can safely get 3 car seats in a C-Max? We will need either 2 stage 1 car seats and an infant carrier, or a high backed booster, and 2 stage 1 car seats.
I've Googled it, and it says that people have squeezed them in, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's safe. Also, it sounds like they would be really cramped and shoved together and it would be a nightmare with the seatbelts.
Anyone got any experience of this? Or any suggestions?

Thanks

  • i suppose it depends on the model of car seat you're using, doubtless some wouldn't be suitable but i'd imagine that some types must be, surely it's just a question of the width of the seats being used.

From what I can remember, even with narrow seats it's cramped. About the only car you could happily have 3 across similar to the C-Max is the Picasso.

  • My ex-BIL and ex-SIL had 2 twin babies and a toddler - they looked at the C-MAX but decided to get the S-MAX instead as they couldn't get all 3 car seats to fit. Best bet would be to take the car seats to a dealership and physically see if you can get them to fit. Salesman should be able to give you some guidance as well.

YES. We had 3 seats across the back of ours last weekend - all big full size Maxi-Cosi seats. There's plenty of room.

I'm glad to read this - as I'm thinking of getting one. I have a 9yr old who can get away without a booster now, & 1 graco booster & a DS who is nearly 3 in a bulky Britax!
  • same situation for me, have a baby and toddler, and baby due in june. ( must buy a tv for the bedroom ) atm got a 98 fiesta which i love but is way to small. was thinking of a scenic 5/7 seater, focus cmax, or xsara picasso. i aint got the money to buy new so there my options with the cash ive got. i think the french cars are bigger but then i want something that wont pile in every 500 miles. i prefer the look of the scenic but the cmax i imagine lot more reliable. but of a lottery i guess.
