Buyer has paid but not collected

Short version.....buyer bought item on 28th August 2006. Paid straight away using Paypal. He asked me to send the item to him. I said it would cost approx £20 extra as I had put it as pick up only. He said he didn't realise and he would pick up. He's coming from France. He arranged a date and he didn't show. He e-mailed the next day to say he was coming that day. Anyway, he can only make 12 noon so of course I e-mailed to say no way as I wouldn't be in. I can never get out of my job at lunch time and said I could do after 4pm. He said he could never do after 4pm as he would be along the M1 before then and could only do lunch time. Anyway....told him dates and times I could make and he couldn't do any of them or...he didn't reply to my e-mails. I even told him I COULD make any time this week (half term). Couple of weeks ago there was a note through the door (hadn't arranged for pick up on that day) saying he had been and I hadn't been there. Duh....I said I would never be in during the week at lunch time. Since then I have had nothing and it is nearly two months since this all began. I have just e-mailed him again to say that it is now half term, I have heard nothing from him and what was he playing at.

Anyway...advice please...what do I do now?

  • He will probably do a chargeback as you cannot prove he has recieved the goods.

Offer him a refund less your costs and why would you come from France saving £20 on postage a ferry crossing and fuel is gonna be more than that.
