Redundancy payment disappeared

Hi,
My partner has just been made redundant from RBS along with several 1000 others. She received a letter on the 22 Nov stating that her redundancy payment would be credited to her account that day (Halifax). However the payment still has not arrived despite all of her other colleagues getting theirs. She has contacted RBS several times and has been told the payment definately went by CHAPS on the 22nd, the Halifax have stated several times that it has never been received. We are going away next week until after Xmas but were relying on the redundancy payment to cover the mortgage payments (as I cannot afford all the bills etc on my own). Therefore the question is what else can we do? Every time we ring RBS or the Halifax they just point us back to the other and in the meatime 8k is sitting somewhere in the ether. Also if this is not resolved quickly, what kind of remit do we have if we default on the mortgage?

Kind regards

Paul

Get RBS to tell you which account it went to sort code etc.

Could be a typo at their end allthough was it the same account that normal pay used to go?
