HI -Hope someone can help
My daughter is 11 and has been awarded DLA until September 2011.
If it is stopped after this, will the higher Tax Credits received with having a disabled child (highest care component) stop at the same time or will they last until the tax credit review next April?

Start by doing what's necessary, then what's possible, and suddenly you are doing the impossible.

It will stop at the same time, you need to contact tax credits as soon as DLA stops to avoid any overpayment.

Same answer as above. Do tell them STRAIGHT AWAY because the longer you leave it they will end up sending you a bill for overpayments. The day I had my Beautiful son is the day everything came together for me. For someone so small he done so much and made me complete.0 -

Op- when my DD was in receipt of DLA , her condition improved and so i contacted the DLA dept to cancel her claim to the benefit.
I also contacted tax credits the very same day to tell them that i was no longer entitled to the disability premium.
I expected my weekly payments to drop only by the amount of the disability premium so got quite a shock when i received my new award and my payments had went down by about £70 per week !
I did telephone the helpline and they confirmed that this way correct and it was just the way the premium was calculated .
Just bear this in mind come sept if you are trying to budget.
Maybe the poster Zagfles will see this thread and be able to confirm .The loopy one has gone :j0
