Hi
I had my first meeting regarding my job being made redundant.
I have been offered another position at less money which i may take at the end of the consultation period. This period ends on the 15th. Where they will tell me that i have been made redundant.
2 questions.
1)In the meantime do i have to attend work. then after the 15th and i accept the job i go back to work.
2)should i get any more notice after this should i not accept the job...so like on the 15th they say your redundant does my work cease then or with notice period
thanks

Yes you have to attend work unless they say otherwhise you are still on your original contract.
Ask about a tial periods for the new job
Consult try to look for ways to save your job and reduce the impact say by your current pay to be held for a period of say 2 year if you take the alternative roll.
Yor notice starts when they make the final choice to terminate the contract that will be 1 week per year or more if contractual.0 -
Thanks. they definitely said that my notice period was included in the 3 week consultation period.
Seems weird I reckon they would be on it.0 -
Have you had notice of termination with notice?
I don't think you can run consultation along side notice.0 -
if you accept the job and get made redundant at a later date then it will be at the new rate of pay -
and as to consultation if they are making less than 30 (i think) peopele redundant then i don't think they have to consult - although it would be good practice...
