Hello,
Here is an update.
1, I have just registered for coucil tax for the both of us and they have said ill receive direct debit forms through the post in a few days.
2, I checked on the working tax credits website last night and it sais i can claim another £9.77 a week via that benifet so will sort this out asap by printing off the forms at work.
3, Once i know how much the council tax is then i can do an "official SOA" and then send a letter to the court about the fine to see if I can get it any lower.
Im going to focus on these things first, if i try and do too much at once ill end up making mistakes.0 -
I was not aware that Norfolk had any motorways let alone 4 within 15 miles!!!
Your profile states Great Yarmouth as as a fellow Norfolk resident the train and bus links from here are fantastic.
You can't afford the car!
Think again0 -
Hi,
I havent updated my profile,
Im in Kettering, Northamptonshire.
There is plenty of links from my house but at the end where i work its on a business park in the middle of know where, so know bus stops, locals ride in on bike but everyone else car.
I'll update this later tonight as im not on lunch break any more.0 -
well done for sticking with it. Honestly, you'll feel loads better once you have a clear picture and a plan of action.
I'm guessing that the imminent arrival of your baby is one of the things that has prompted you to roll up your sleeves and sort this out. Good.:beer:0 -

That is brilliant!! So happy for you that you are getting things sorted out and you have a plan. Good luck with everything.

I have a quick query as my girlfriend will not be happy if what I do interferes with her money she receives.
I am not trying to commit fraud in anyway however do not want to jeprodise the money she receives as she relies on this as my wages only just about cover the bills.
Is it possible for her to continue to claim ESA whilst im working and living with her ?
We do not receive any money other money at the moment apart from her ESA and my wages because when she moved she just updated the address details of her claim.
Im worried that if i sign up for Working tax credits and get the extra £9 a week then they may stop her money that gives her some self esteem and confidence she receives about £58 a week and if this gets replaced by £9 a week then we will be even worse off and will probably sink.0 -
*bump*
I'm afraid benefits are not my 'specialist subject' - so to speak.
Hopefully someone will be along to help.
You could post on the benefits and tax credits board too.0 -

Is it an option to take the bus and then cycle?
Is it an option to move closer to where you work?
Have you pulled out a map and examined it closely to make sure that the ONLY route you could possibly take has to go via the four motorways?
(Why would you need to get up at 4-5am to leave at 6:30?)
Keeping the car just is not an option. You HAVE to find another way.0 -
Hi,
I am following the step by step instructions provdided by ellabelle as i find it easier to digest seeing it all laid out in steps.
I have contacted working tax credits and they said I can claim an extra £5 a week now so £20 a month.
They have sent the forms out, i have chased the council about the council tax and they said they have a backlog at the moment and i should here within a couple of weeks.
Question, Do i update my bank tomorrow with my new address as they will report this to credit agencies and the letters will start . . . or shall i leave it at the old address for now until im at the step in the instructions by ella to start dealing with them.0
