Back Up Problem

Hi All
I have been trying to back up my docs, photos and music as i need to put a new OS on it as the licence for my previous one has expired. As the 2 W7 are different veriions i cannot just validate with the new key.
I tried the W7 back up three times but each time it closed down, after 2 hours each times:wall:
Please can anyone help or advise a good back up just for what i need backed up, thanks in advance.

Access the folders where you have the docs stored, and copy/paste them to your backup location.
Is W7 trying to back up ALL of your hard drive, as opposed to just your data?0 -
You should be able to get away with just installing the newer version however its advised to back up. It should move all your files into a Windows.old folder.0
