Using Natwest Debit Card - Ordering In Dollars

Options
Hi, I'm trying to use my UK debit card to order from threadless in America, but all prices are in dollars. Am I able to do this, or not + if so, will there be a conversion charge?

Any help is most appreciated - Dan.

Usually you can do this with UK debit/credit cards.

Natwest will use Visa or Mastercard exchange rate and charge you 2.65% plus further £0.75 flat fee for each transaction.

Visa/Mastercard rate is very close to interbank rate that can be found, for example, here: http://www.oanda.com/
  • Nationwide won't charge you for it.
If you don't like what I say slap me around with a large trout and PM me to tell me why.

If you do like it please hit the thanks button.
  • ah right - thanks.

Threadless keeps declining my card anyway and the sale ends today :/

They might not accept Maestro, as they dont issue them in the US.

You'd be better with a Visa, Mastercard or Amex

Maestro is the brand name of debit cards from MasterCard and are issued in America as well though I think some places in America may call it a 'Debit MasterCard' instead.
