Thanks Moglex. I already mentioned involving the Police in a posting on the non payer dispute and his reply was 'no further comment'. As has been said, most people see such threats as empty ones but not in this case! Ive just issued the County Court Claim online and am about to call the Police.
    Wow. Star Player!

If only there were more people who would not let these dishonest jerks walk all over them.

Not only are you doing something toright the wrong against yourself, you're helping the rest of the community.

If (assuming he's guilty) he were to be prosecuted, and the case got some publicity it would make other scum-bags realise that the crime they thoughwas 'no-risk' is perhaps not such a good idea after all.

I'd just like to say 'thank you' on behalf of myself, and every honest trader / buyer on eBay. I have been lucky on eBay and not had problems like this but I know they're out there and they need bringing to task.
Life should be a little nuts; otherwise it's just a bunch of Thursdays strung together.

    Hi

Sorry if this has been posted somewhere but this site is really useful for checking just the negative feedback and not having to trawl through pages and pages of feedback which includes the positives. I use it all the time. So for example the ebayer in question in this thread would show this on the checking site I use.

With regard to court - don't bother - ebay are no help whatsoever. I 'won' two items last year from the same ebayer. Paid immediately via paypal and a few days later they contacted me and said..."sorry problems with auction and bidding, ebay will confirm...you have to agree to mutually withdraw etc." I agreed that subject to receipt of evidence of this I would mutually withdraw. I contacted ebay who said there were no problems they were aware of so I refused to withdraw - I also offered the seller the chance to forward the emails they claimed they had from ebay advising them of the problems - they refused to forward them.

The seller then refunded my money without any further notice to me and then filed a non paying bidder dispute and left appalling feedback for me. They did this to others as well as me and continually got away with it. Basically if goods didn't reach the price they wanted they used the bidding problems scam.

Call me daft...but I thought that in an auction at the fall of the hammer (so to speak) and on full cleared payment of funds the goods were yours. Definitely not so. I issued a small claims through the online court system...they responded with details of wifes depression, my ruining their life....etc...etc.....and they won!!!!! Now at the time I had just been diagnosed with advanced cancer and could have put that in my claim, but I jsut put the facts. Waste of space going to court. Walk away from it is my advice. I agree there are many, many honest sellers and it's a shame that the few damage the overall view of ebay in this way. But the stress caused by this as a time in my life when everything was difficult has made me realise that some things are just not worth bothering about.

I do give people with small amounts of negative feedback the benefit of the doubt - I have negative feedback now through no fault of my own and good people still trade with me. I'm jsut really careful to read between the lines and check ALL an ebayers negative feedback for trends and traits
