Hi, i recently posted a message about cheap dvd's and i would just like to say don't touch them with a barge pole. The website was https://www.dvdhitshop.com Not only are they rather useless at responding to customer service emails as their dvds are poor quality i have also found out that their dvds are illegal copies and pirated.
DO NOT USE! I have lost £35 from this company who i cannot get hold of and have a number of Dvds which are not even watchable.

Linzi,
If you paid by credit card then I would advise them of the situation regarding this company as they may well be liable for your loss.
Give it a try.

I didn't see your previous post regarding this company, but I have just had a quick glance at their website after reading the above, and I have to wonder if you actually thought it was going to be genuine.
They are advertising T3, Charlies Angels 2, The Hulk and many other films that have either not even been released at the cinema in the UK yet. And for $4!?
Can I ask what you bought, how much you paid, and what you actually got?Regards

Hi again
I realise that my tone in my previous post may have been a little bit, 'erm, dur, what did you think was going to happen'. For this I apologise, it was probably not my best introduction to the site. I need to remember that some people are still innocents on the web ,and more to the scams that can take place.
I have looked further into the site, and fear that you may have seen the last of your money.
The domain has only been registered since the end of April this year, and it seems to be hosted with a company that specializes in 'offshore hosting'.
There is also no registered address shown for the domain registration.
I may be wrong, and this company may be legit, but a badly designed site, ridiculous prices, DVDs that do not come with the inner booklet, not in proper cases, a discount for a non-standard payment method, no postal address, etc does not look like a genuine site to me.
I haven't tried using the telephone number provided, but from the looks of the site, it wouldn't surprise me if it was a premium rate number.
All in all, if you did use your credit card, good luck, and indeed you amy be covered, but I wouldn't hold your breath.
Always a good idea to go with a trusted site with a reputation. Remember, if it looks too good to be true, it probably is.
Try https://www.cdwow.com https://www.play.com or https://www.blackstar.co.uk in future.
I know this won't help, but it may help you think twice in future, and I'm sorry if these posts are taken the wrong way.
Oh, and the fact that the DVDs will play in any region leads me to believe that they may be VCDs, and your games console has to be modified (chipped) to play the games?Regards

Anyway just an update, after a few threatening emails i managed to get a refund from the website in question with interest 'for my inconvenience' although i still have 9 poor copies of Matrix Reloaded sitting here as they strangely didn't even want me to send them back! (if they had been ok i could have had them for free!!) still it all works out in the end.

just noticed this thread and like a true MS immediately thought - isn't there a reward scheme for dobbing in people like this?
maybe worth looking here http://www.fact-uk.org.uk/ to see if this is true? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I have to say that while we all makes mistakes, im with Chinesewhispers on this one....a badly designed site selling DVDs of films that are still in the cinema should be raising alarm bells...but well done for getting a refund.
Incidentally, you want a good version of T3? haha
[note to cyber police - this is a joke]0
