Latest share certificates were emailed out today - anyone who signed up for this offer should have received the certificate today.
If you didn't, then log back into imutual and make sure you completed the shareholder registration (i.e filled in name and address).0 -

I filled in that registration when I joined the site but I haven't been emailed anything. What exactly is it that I was meant to get? Anything worth chasing up?0 -

just curious. law is that on share certificate it must state the cash value at time of issue. what is one share worth?Martin you rock:j:j:j0 -
BruceyBonus wrote: »Those who say the shares have no value - well of course shares in a new company won't be worth much (in terms of money). But if you'd been offered shares in Quidco (for example) five years ago, they wouldn't have been worth much. Quidco now has over a million members and is worth several (possibly hundreds) millions of pounds.
QUOTE]
The prime example here is The Mutual (when it stated as an ISP) then Mutual Points (when ISP bubble burst and it transformed itself into a cashback site) then transformed itself into TMN when advertising became a bigger part of the business it did. It is now known as Progressive Digital Media Group (PRO.L) still quoted on the LSE AIM market and largly owned by a multi-millionaire these days.
Its origins had shares being isseued to customers in return for internet useage. You also got shares on sign-up and fore recomending others (made most of my points this way). The shares during the Internet bubble were worth a little (about a penny or so I think) then sunk to a fraction of a fraction of a penny where they stayed for several years. But the people employed to run the business built it and it is worth a lot more today.
I am still a shareholder today (see http://www.myportfolio.goodornot.co.uk/ not up to date but...) and although I should have sold my holding many times (before the crash they were worth about £1 a share) but I have now built my holding through actual buying of shares and it now sits as one of my most profitable shares that I hope will one day pay a divi.
Having said all that I think the day for this type of thing is over but who knows if this chap can build the business I may make back the £4.50 I lost in RP.
I think nothing to lose in this with a potential to gain.I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.0 -
