Incapacity benefit and contribution based JSA are claimed by individuals on the basis of their own circumstances rather than by a household. They do not generally affect each other unless there are additional amounts paid for dependants as part of the award. Both benefits would be classed as income for any claim to a 'means tested' benefit such as Housing Benefit or income based JSA which are based on household circumstances.
