I shall contact CAB as well. I posted elswhere on MSE and most of the replies I got where from smug people who said I should have had more sense.

All I wanted was a bit of advice not a kicking whilst I am down!

    Here's my original posting:

    I don't drink, don't smoke, don't go out - why aren't I rich?
    Don't worry, I'm working on it! :p
  • Hi ladies and gents sorry to drag this thread up but i found it on google,

My mother in law got conned by this as well,

But when she called them they said no problem and sent an email saying they will refund 2 months worth of payments in the next 7-10 days but as the first payment was over sixty days ago they cant refund it but will give it to her in store credit, I've told her to use the store credit as long as no credit card details are needed if they are run a mile,

quick question has anyone else had this quick of a solution with this company this is the first time we've rung after she noticed the money missing and after reading through a few sites seems a bit easy? (i have also told her to stay away from facebook ads).

If you are referring to the anti-ageing store, then all I can say is that a similar thread on the Daily Mail beauty forum, has been 'moved' due to 'legal reasons'. I posted the original comment on that thread and there followed a deluge of women all worried about their money.

The AA company appears in many guises all over the web and, as a matter of interest, I've clicked on the links and discovered they take me right back to the page where I was originally conned. They are still appearing on Facebook, despite complaints. It appears FB aren't really interested.

You don't give full details of your mother-in-law's concerns, but if she paid for a trial sample of collagen for £4.50 plus p&p with a promise that she would never be billed anything more should she decide not to continue with the product PROVIDED she cancelled everything within 14 or 30 days. (Their T&Cs seem to change from time to time) The problem is that the company don't actually send out the product until it's too late for customers to cancel and by which time, they've discovered almost £100 has been uplifted from their bank accounts.

If this is similar to your m-i-law's story, then she should contact her bank/credit card company and tell them what's happened. They in turn should raise an unauthorised payment dispute and eventually, she should get her money back.

I've only heard of 1 person getting their money refunded directly from the AA company. Generally, they don't respond to emails. I got my money refunded once I'd gone to see my bank manager- it's best to do it face to face. I was getting nowhere speaking to the people on the bank's phoneline. They were sympathetic but I kept getting conflicting advice.

I wouldn't touch a credit note from the company with a barge pole!
