thats might be why when I was talking to it it was looking at me strange.apparently blackbirds that were with us in the spring have moved to warmer climes. The ones we see now are probably recent arrivals from
Scandanavia.
my mate bought a welsh sheep dog and he thought it was useless ....I told him- have you thought it might only understand welsh

I keep putting food out for the birds but never get any, not a solitary one, the lady next door has loads on hers, all sorts and sizes

We have blackbirds in our garden and normally they are fine with the other birds. I think they are getting a bit hungry though despite the amounts of food I've put out.
They demolished an apple yesterday and have been eating lots of ground stuff. I cleared some soil for them in a border near the house and I think this is soft enough for them to dig in as they've made a bit of mess.
I have put seed balls out and seed feeders for the other birds too.
In summer the neighbouring blackbirds do a "Benny Hill" around the garden being chased out by ours.
I think you could try putting food in a different bit of the garden - move the bird table maybe too?
I've even considered putting fat balls in the tree on the grass verge in front of my house!
I get the seed and peanuts from costco as I think it's the cheapest supply.0 -
starlins sometime come over and try and nibble my balls so then I just throw a snow ball at them and non has returned ...
Poor starlings, since the 1970's they have actually fallen in numbers they are on the red list of birds that are endangered. Our problem here is with pigeons, most of them seem to be the size of small pterodactyl's, we still allow them to feed in the garden though.0
