Have to agree tell them to see a financial advisor - you don't want anything firing back on you.

I know when mu hubby gets his it will be clearing our debts - hopefully by the time he gets it they will be minimal and there will be some left over for a nice holiday and some chill time for him.

I think the only answer is to hang onto until you are ready to make that decision, having discussed with long term partner if you have one.
