Airport closure - Will I get money back?

Some friends and I are meant to be going to estonia for the weekend. Flight from Gatwick tonight. Airport is closed through snow until at least tomorrow a.m. Scheduled flight through estonian airlines and have booked hotel independantly. Will we recover the money back through our insurance or is bad weather not covered? Would appreciate any advice.

You will get the option of a refund or rescheduling on your flight if you cannot travel. As for the hotel, that would depend on the terms of your insurance. You will need to check your policy document.

You will be ablt to re-book your flight, although, you may not be refunded by the hotel - you could try calling and explaining your situation they may sympathise and allow you re-book

A summary of cover should state the details of what is covered or not. Depending on what kind of insurance, look for a section called Cancellation, Curtailment and Trip Interruption. In order to be able to claim the reason must be "necessary and unavoidable". I would check the policy for more details. Good luck.
