I wasn't sure if anyone knew this but.....
Never any point paying £8 for expensive pregnancy tests, go to home bargains and pay 90pence for 2 of the cheap stick ones.
A pharmacist told me that they are exactly the same, you are literally paying for the plastic packaging and doctors etc use the cheap ones. Apparently the chemical that detects HCG is dirt cheap and all the tests are the same, clear blue just has a big plastic case thing around it!!
I wasn't sure if anyone was aware of this so its my money saving tip. I mean I would rather pay 89p for two tests than £3.99 for one from Boots...

I bought an expensive brand one and it told me I wasn't pregnant. I bought a 99p one and it told me I was.
Turns out I was pregnant. Lol.
At 89p buy a couple of boxes and do a test every other day to be perfectly sure they work.0 -
Or for those paranoid out of us, buy lots and do them all in one day! I wasn't anywhere near somewhere that I could get cheap ones, the best I could do was spending £9 on 3 tests at boots. So 12pm, 3pm, and 7pm I did one. Whereas it would have cost me £2 if I'd waited , then again you panic don't you..Money money money.

The 99p store have packs of 3 for (you guessed it!) 99p. And they work.
The trays they have are tiny though so take a different containerMum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

you can buy 10 for about £2-£3 on ebay.Debt: Started at £4780, now at £4190
Comp Wins 2014: None yet0 -
home bargains sell them cheap, and they also sell ovulation kits cheap as well'We're not here for a long time, we're here for a good time0

The only problem I've ever had is knowing what to pee in before doing a test, you know it wants you to dip it in for 10 seconds. I've stared at the kitchen cupboards thinking what I can use and throw away without feeling slightly gross....Money money money.

lol abby i used to use things like deodrant lids lol!! think OH wondered where they were all disapearing too, if you're TTC it is worth buying a cheap bundle on ebay, mega cheap, and usually they are extra sensitive too, the ones i got detected hgc at 10, where as the likes of clear blue/boots detect at something like 100. i got a line about 4 days before my period was due when I found i was pregnant with my second.0

I still did a clearblue to confirm it though :rotfl: But i didn't technically pay for it as i had it left over from my double pack with baby #10
